PLEASE CLICK IMAGE TO VIEW - PRE-REVOLUTIONARY FRENCH OFFICERS SHORT SWORD, LOUIS XVI - with 74.5cm broad tapering slightly curved blade , cast brass multi-brand shell form guard 'Coquille en Palmette' (comprising - L for Louis XVI) back strap and pommel formed as one, leather covered wooden grip bound with a broad single band of brass wire. Early second half of the 18th century. Some wear overall but in good condition - a tiny bit of play between the guard and the blade but virtually nothing and a some evidence of worm to the grip/leather. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from a French Expert (court registered - pres de la Cour d'Appel). 87cm total. Nice piece of Pre-Revolutionary French History.
