2. You intend to posess any antique arm purchased purely for collection or display, (only to be fired in the event that the requisite licences have been acquired in the country of destination and that you do so at your own risk).

That, if you are a resident of the UK, you are NOT a prohibited person excluded from owning any antique firearm by virtue of the amendment to Section 21, relating to prohibited persons which extends the definition of a prohibited person to include persons with suspended sentences of three months or more.
All items are classified as Antique in the UK and Northern Ireland as they are exempt under section 58 (2) of the 1968 Firearms Act to be held as a curiosity or ornament. As such no certificate is required for ownership in the UK or Northern Ireland provided they are held as the afore-mentioned.
They are also classified as Historical and Collectible Weapons and Category 8 Firearms in The Weapon Categories of the Defence Code (Article L-2331-1) under French Firearms Regulations (Category 8S2 referring to deactivated weapons). They do not require a licence for ownership in France.
These historical pieces are being sold strictly as a curio or ornament for historical significance or value. We do not recommend the use or firing of any weapons sold.
In respect of all items in our obsolete calibre section, all UK Purchasers are required to complete our online Antique Weapon Declaration Form. Whilst it is not a legal requirement to complete this form it has been created for your security and ours. The form is simple and easy to complete and asks Customers to simply confirm that they comply with the above 1, 2, 3. Payment will be accepted using the online secure server or by telephone providing credit or debit card details. Payment processing is subject to fraud screening so please ensure that the correct billing address is provided. Payment by cheque, bankers draft or bank transfer is also acceptable by prior arrangement.
We do our best to ensure that all items are packaged securely before leaving our premises. All items are covered for damage by a standard 'Goods in transit' insurance and are sent using a registered and trackable service for both international and domestic packages from either our showroom in the UK or France. In the unlikely event that your purchase is delivered damaged it is of the utmost importance that you advise the Courier that the parcel/content is damaged and only accept it provided it has been signed for as such. If a parcel is signed for 'in good condition' and it is later found that the contents is damaged the 'Goods in transit' insurance will not be valid and we will be unable to issue a refund.
In the extremely rare event that any order is lost in transit we will undertake to provide a full refund for goods purchased after the expiration of 30 days from the date of order, therefore allowing sufficient time to ascertain the whereabouts of the goods.
The EU Freedom of Movement of Goods Act allows any unlicenced goods to be sent freely between member states without the requirement for the payment of Customs charges, however, it is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that any such duties are paid for in the destination country.
Customs clearance (UK): Given the nature of the goods we sell, they can frequently be the subject of Customs checks. No refunds will be made whilst goods are being assessed/controled by (UK) customs authorities. Where it becomes clear that the goods, for whatever reason, are not going to be released or have been lost a refund will only be given after a successful claim by ROA on their goods in transit insurance policy.
It is the purchasers' responsibility to ensure that they comply fully with all licencing and importation requirements (Import Permits) relevant to the destination country. It is also the purchasers' responsibility to deal with all negotiations, payments, charges required by the Customs control in the destination country. No refunds will be given for goods seized by Customs and no negotiations will be entered into by ROA Antique Arms with Customs Authorities.
Please note: Depending on the destination country customs checks frequently take between 4 and 8 weeks and in some instances longer.
We will deliver to the cardholder's address or an alternative address. Tracking details are available upon request. Courier services undertake to deliver to a specified address, not to a person. In the case of multi-occupancy at the delivery address it is the purchaser's responsibility to ensure that arrangements are made with any other occupants to take receipt of the package as the item(s) become the responsibility of the purchaser once signed for.

Items which appear in our Restoration Section or with declared defects are sold as seen. These pieces may not function or have damage or parts missing and they are excluded from our returns policy.
Sale items or items which have been subject to a negotiated discount off the listed price, including where the shipping cost has been included in the purchase price, are excluded from our returns policy.
Where we purchase items directly from third parties at customers request these items are excluded from our returns policy. Customers should fully appraise themselves of the suitability and condition of such items before making a request that these items are purchased on their behalf. If a downpayment of deposit has been taken or the entire purchase price has been made this amount will be forfit should the customer change his/her mind before delivery.
In all other cases, if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, goods may be returned (at the discretion of the vendor) in their original condition, for refund or exchange within 28 days of receipt. Please contact us prior to returning goods. An administration charge of £15 will be incurred in all cases of refund or exchange.
Please note that in return of goods customers will be required to pay the full cost of outgoing and incoming shipping including packaging and insurance regardless of whether this was included in the initial sale price. All items must be returned using a trackable and insured service and refunds will not be given until the item is received in the condition in which it was sent. The purchaser will be responsible for dealing with all customs control/negotiation and fees where applicable in respect of the returned goods. All items should be returned in their original packaging wherever possible and include all documentation sent, including deactivation certificates where appropriate. Items lost in the post or seized by customs control on return are soley the responsibility of the purchaser and no refund will be given until the goods are received at our return address (available on request)>
Every care is taken to photograph and describe items fully to reflect their condition. All the items that we sell are antique items and as such have age and in some cases are hundreds of years old. We endeavour to describe all major defects and faults although there will be faults of lesser significance such as scratches, wear, abrasions, dents, deformities, corrosion and losses etc which can not within the confines of reasonableness be listed individually. It is assumed for the purposes of this website that purchasers have studied the photographs and statements of condition and if necessary purchasers can arrange to view the items here at our premises to assure themselves of condition. If purchasers are in any doubt as to the condition of any item they are freely available to ask for further clarification or assurance by way of photographic images or condition reports. If purchasers are unsure as to condition or have reservations then they should not purchase the items. No refunds will be made in respect of defects or condition where they were already noted or where these defects/condition are consistent with the age of the item concerned.
