SUPERB AND FINE 1796 PATTERN LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICERS SABER WITH BLUE AND GILT BLADE

PLEASE CLICK IMAGE TO VIEW - SUPERB AND FINE 1796 PATTERN LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICERS SABER WITH BLUE AND GILT BLADE - with 83cm curved broad blade with wide fullers on both sides, guilded ornaments with blue fire-gilt finish over two thirds of the blade, regulation stirrup hilt with down-turned quillion and ray skin wire bound grip in it's scabbard with two suspension rings and possibly associated sword knott.  The blade in superb condition and retaining the greater part of it's original blue and gilt finish, totally straight with only one tiny patch of corrosion to the tip, the scabbard surface patinated overall with one or two very light dents, the hilt with some movement in the spacer ring below the grip and some minor movement in the hilt with some loose wire binding, the ray skin covering complete. The sword 95cm overall.  A fine example.
