FRENCH NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD FOR A HIGH RANKING OFFICER LATE 19TH CENTURY - sold

PLEASE CLICK IMAGE TO VIEW - FRENCH NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD FOR A HIGH RANKING OFFICER LATE 19TH CENTURY - with 63.5cm plated blade with spear point tip and signed on the back 'Coulaux a Klingenthal', heavy ormoulu gilded guard, back strap and pommel, pierced and chased with a fouled anchor below a crown, horn grip (wire missing) and together with it's black leather scabbard with heavy cast and guilded mounts.  The whole in very good condition, the blade with all of it's original plated finish (edge re-sharpened) and the mounts with the majority of the guilding remaining fresh and bright.  The leather generally very good for it's age.  A very attractive sword based on the 1837 pattern for a high ranking naval officer. sold
