PLEASE CLICK IMAGE TO VIEW - PAIR OF RIFLED FRENCH OFFICERS PISTOLS OF MLE 1833 TYPE MARKED 1 & 2 RESPECTIVELY - with 18cm hexagonal, wire twist, sighted barrels with multi groove 17mm rifled bores, standing leaf rear sight, breaches and tangs marked 1 & 2 respectively, swivel ramrods,  plain back action polished locks, highly figured walnut half stocks with finely chequered panels, trigger guard with finger rest and finial and dome shaped faceted pommels with lanyard ring and both with oval white metal esutcheons with the owners name 'H'E De LACOUR'.  In very good condition, the barrel interiors with good rifling, the meal parts smooth and without corrosion, the barrels with nice twist pattern, one stock has had an almost invisible repair mid-way throught the chequered pannel  probably due to a shrinkage crack but this does not at all detract.  These are a large, heavy weight pair of pistols in very good condition and would have been a private purchase by a french Cavalry Officer.  Percussion nipples and breach plugs un-screw without issue and are in very good repair. Could without doubt be shot if desired.  34cm overall.  sold
