All items in this category can be owned without the need for a shotgun licence or firearms licence in mainland UK. All items are deactivated in the UK and hold UK deactivation certificates and proof marks. All items are classified as Antique in mainland UK as they are deactivated weapons and exempt under section 58 (2) of the 1968 Firearms Act. Please note our current understanding is that Northern Ireland requires post 1995 certificates. These items are also classified as Historical and Collectible Weapons and Category 8 Firearms in The Weapon Categories of the Defence Code (Article L-2331-1) under French Firearms Regulations (Category 8S2 referring to deactivated weapons). They do not require a licence for ownership in France. In order to promote and safeguard the freedom of the Collector details of purchases may be supplied to Law Enforcement Agencies.
